Making the Spot Hot

In 2024, Spotify found itself in the difficult position of having to lay off a significant number of its employees. Recognizing that the company was straying from its core values, Spotify’s executives were determined to bring it back to its roots as a hub that empowers artists. With this goal in mind, Spotify turned to Legend Initiative for assistance in developing new programs and campaigns specifically designed to support the artists on their platform.

Phase 1: Growing Connection

We live in a social era and what people crave most is interaction and social belonging. People love to talk with each other, hangout, and of course, listen to music. That’s why Legend is introducing a new social aspect to Spotify, Spotify’s Listening Party.

This new feature would allow Artists to host a listening party for their releases that include live video and a comment section so users can interact with other party members and the artist themselves. Listening parties is a way to increase the number of streams the Artists receive and provide users more entertainment on the app. 

Phase 2: Artist Brand Up

To further help Spotify execute on its goals of providing a better platform for artists, we extended our services to help artists on these platforms utilize other content forms outside of audio. Our videographers captured the stories and aura of the artists to use for Reels, Shorts, and long form video content. In addition, our writers utilized short blogs and E-Mail blasts to keep audiences locked in with the artists they follow.

 

Phase 3: Creating an Experience

A Legend Elite Campaign isn’t complete without providing experiential marketing. With that said we developed a program for qualified artists. For now, that phase is still being executed and worked out but more info will be available in 2025.
